‘Barbere’ is the barberry (Berberis vulgaris) and ‘Brohm’ is the Common Broom (Cytisus scoparius) 
Barberry fruits were widely used in English cooking at the time of this herbal and are still used in Persian cooking, if you can find some dried barberries Zereshk Polo ba Morgh (Barberry Rice with Chicken) is a great recipe.
